Shifted Voids

This studio challenges students to design a multi-use viewing platform at the UCLA Rowing Team facility located along the Ballona Creek in Marina Del Rey. Students are needed to explore the articulation of geometry, materiality, and human activities that can help define a relationship between site, space, and program. The goal of this project includes the creation of a viewing platform for birdwatching next to the protected ecological reserve marsh across the waterway and a viewpoint for observing the university boat races that are held regularly in Ballona Creek.
